Tech Question

Anyone have any ideas on how to save a realmedia stream? There's a programme currently available online that will probably only be available for a few more days, and I'd like to find a way to archive it.

Thanks.

There is a way in Linux ... (hunts around for the command) ... got it!

mplayer -noframedrop -dumpfile out.rm -dumpstream rtsp://url/to/file.rm
(might even work with the win32 version of mplayer)

Share and enjoy!

Ooh... that seems to be working!

Have to go to work now - will check out if it did tonight.

Thanks!

One more question... is there any to specify that a specific timeframe be taken rather than the whole lot? The programme seems to have a whole hour of TV with ads at the start and end. However, the SMIL file specifies the exact timerange of the programme, so I'd like to take just that range. I'm sure if I look at the MPlayer documentation it will tell me.

Oh, and it does seem to work in the Win32 version (though I might get home and find a multi-megabyte file of junk).

Thanks again!
