The World's Gone Mad (pt 1)

TexasTexas school district to let teachers carry guns

Okay, I've heard the argument that the solution to gun crime is more guns, so that people have the means to defend themselves. But surely our schools are the one place kids should be safe, and not just in the hope that teacher will take the offender out first.

How long before a teacher somewhere goes postal and takes out a load of kids? The solution then? Have the kids carry guns too?

What do you mean by "our" schools? This is a symptom of why I wouldn't want to live in the states. I don't want "it" to be my (and my kids') problem.

By our schools, I mean schools on the planet Earth. I mean that children across the world should be able to go school feeling safe. Children can't choose what country or state they are born into, and where they go to school is largely dictated by accident of birth.

I know in some states they've put metal detectors at the school entrance. While it's sad that this measure is considered necessary, at least it means that the guns stay outside the school.
