Holy cow!

The Sobig.F virus (which is technically a Trojan Horse rather than a virus) has been sweeping Ireland the last couple of days. Since yesterday, I have received 528 messages in my ISP account, most of which are over 100K. I would normally receive about 15-20 messages per day on this account. I hardly ever get "real" mail to this address any more. Normally I'd check it about once a week, but I'm transferring a domain at the moment, so I need to moniter it. Oddly, I don't seem to received any virus messages at all on my main account.

Edit: I don't want to download 50 megs of email, so I'm deleting them through my patented POP3 Webmail. I think the virus is overloading the poor email server, as half the time I'm getting "POP3 Greeting Not Found".

I've been getting a few Sobig e-mails as well. Not as many as you. I probably got only a dozen or so over the last few days. Fortunately, they didn't do any harm as I use a Mac. Heh, heh, heh.

They don't do me any harm either because I don't open them.

Sensible approach. However, see today's Userfriendly (http://www.userfriendly.org)
