Anyone getting married?

I'm afraid you've just missed a bargain wedding dress on eBay.

Sorry about that.

Nearly 4000 dollars isn't a bargain...

... when I first was pointed at this dress, it was only 205 dollars (or thereabouts) but was already too expensive for me to bid on as a fun thing ... but the bidding war it went through on the 27th was pretty amazing, particularly given it wasn't closing until the 28th)

The guy sounds suitably bitter but at the same time he's kept his sense of humour and he's profited from it, and had several marriage proposals!

I don't think he and I would be bestest friends, but I do respect his courage in standing up and taking the hits.

Well, maybe not a bargain, but I'm sure it's excellent value for money. No, I have no idea why anyone would pay that sort of money.

No. It only cost £1,200 dollars new from the shop.

Absurd as it seems, I seriously doubt people were bidding because they want the wedding dress (except maybe as a trophy). People were bidding absurd amounts because they wanted to win a prestige auction. This is why he was only accepting bids from preapproved bidders. I wouldn't bid on something like that, but I can see why silly people do.

Heh...it was up to $15100 at one point...obviously cancelled some bids :)
