Went to see Equilibrium tonight. The movie is built on a flawed concept in my opinion. And it steals too many ideas from 1984, The Matrix, Bladerunner, and probably a host of other movies. It also has a host of bad clichés, such as too many scenes of angst over the dead wife. And to cap it all, there's some slightly dodgy editing.

However, if you put all that aside, the movie looks great. And there are some fantastic fight scenes, which is always good. There are also lots of places to laugh inappropriatly if you don't realise it isn't intended as a comedy. But the fact that I enjoyed it thoroughly doesn't make it a good movie.
