In my new house I'll have a choice of broadband access. A choice!

Option 1: ADSL 512/128 from any of three providers. Roughly €50 per month for home plan with 4GB per month cap or €100 per month for business plan with no cap and fixed IP address.

Option 2: Wireless 512/512 from DigiWeb. Roughly €50 per month for home plan with 6GB per month cap or €100 per month for business plan with no cap and fixed IP address.

I'm thinking of moving my web hosting to my own web server, which means that while the business plan would cost more initially, it would save me money when I dump my current provider. The 512 uplink of wireless would pay dividends here.

Does anyone have any advice/experience in this regard? I've heard of people having occasional drop-outs with DSL which can cause problems hosting a web server. The guy I spoke to on the Wireless side said they have three seperate transmission points in Drogheda, and there should be no breaks in service, but I didn't want to quiz him too hard in case he thought I wanted to start up a major web-hosting service.

Thanks for your thoughts.
