Surreal...
Apr. 10th, 2003 03:58 pmThe office I work is (I'll tell you more about that another time) is just a stone's throw from the American embassy in Dublin (okay, you would have to throw the stone very hard to reach it, and I suspect you might end up regretting it later). Needless to say, there have been a number of protests outside the embassy in recent weeks.
Today, however, we saw a small but noisy group marching down the street towards the building. As usual they carried banners, but I couldn't make out any slogans from six floors up. However they were also waving Stars and Stripes and what I'm reliably informed are Kurdish flags.
The Americans can feel liked for a little while. No doubt someone will show up to hate them next week...
