Just finished reading The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner. I must say it's one of the best books I've read in a while. Published in 1972, the parallels to current events are rather uncanny. In the wake of environmental disaster and a (percieved) terrorist threat, the US administration behaves in a startlingly similar way to the current government. I recommend it.
Also sci-fi related, the Sci-Fi Club seemed to go well, despite not having a formal speaker. Was a bit slow starting, but by 9PM there was a good crowd. James Brophy had brought a CD with the animated Clone Wars episodes, which I played on my laptop. Unfortunately I had to leave for my train at ten, so I didn't get to play the final episode. I also had to leave them to run the raffle without me.
Four days to snowboarding!
Oh, by the way, yet another new icon...
