Volunteers needed for cancer experiment
Mar. 25th, 2004 03:09 pmDublin is one of the cities participating an a European Commission experiment to measure how much benzine, a cancer causing chemical, its citizens are exposed to. Benzine is mainly found in petrol fumes and cigarette smoke.
Hundreds of volunteers will be asked to wear a measuring device on the 28th of April, which will record the amount of the nasty chemical they are exposed to.
The project in Dublin is being run by the DIT. They are looking for a mix of smokers and non-smokers who travel by car, public transport and bicycle. Details can be found here, including a word document you can fill in an email to them to volunteer.
The experiment will also be going on in other cities around Europe, so check if you live in one of them.
