PHP 5 Released
Jul. 14th, 2004 11:21 amOoh, PHP, the open-source web development tool used to power many websites has just undergone a major upgrade.
The new version has lots of cool things that will drive developers wild with delight, but nobody else will care about. Watch them drool over the new object model while you wonder what the fuss is about.
End users should benefit from the new features as developers incorporate them into their sites, but that's a longer-term thing.
Now I just have to persuade my webhost (or IPP - Internet Presence Provider - is apparently the new buzzword) to install it. May take some time considering they are still using 4.2.2 rather than the more recent 4.3.8.M/small>
