Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Our poor car is very sick. It seems to have water in its oil, which seems to have come from the cooling system, which should not be happening. It seems quite likely that this is caused by the head gasket, which is definitely is not a good thing.

The good news is that we might be getting a new car tomorrow. Or at least a newer one. It's perhaps not the best circumstances to be trading in under, but at least all will be good when we have it.

I'll miss the old beast. We've had some fun with it. Given quite a few SF authors a lift in it. But, looking forward to a new piece of machinery to torture. Hurrah!

Fraid not! Oil in the water is not a good sign, but AFAIK, water in the oil is far worse. It leaves a plasticy deposit inside the oil cap.
