It's a week ago now, but went on a short steam train trip to commemerate 150 years of the viaduct over the Boyne, which completed the Dublin-Belfast railway line.
Did you get to spit into the Boyne? From that height, it should be fun
Almost as much fun as waiting for the open-slat (or whatever the technical term is) bridge over the Nanny at Laytown and flushing.... (takes good timing, that)
Evil Person! You would need to be a better spitter than I to get it from the train carriage over the sides of the bridge. Even then you wouldn't see it when it hit the bottom. On the other hand, someone I know was videoing it from the valley below, so it would be fun to see if it came out on the video.
Oh, and the modern trains store the, er, pollutants, in a tank rather than depositing them on the track, so it doesn't matter where you flush any more (which is why they don't have signs telling you not to flush while the train is in a station).

Aww, that takes the fun out of it. One of the highlights of my holidays used to be waiting on the path under the rail bridge for the Enterprise (errr, the train ;O)) to come over at 90 mph, especially because there was the added bonus of the risk of being hit by 90mph poo....
