Early Start
Jun. 25th, 2003 08:04 amJust put the finishing touches to the latest issue of The Brentford Mercury. Hurrah. Normally finishing at 8:04am would mean I'd been at it all night, but on this occasion I woke at six full of drive. Unheard of for me.
This is possibly our most packed issue ever. We're stuck at 28 pages because going over that pushes the weight too high for the lower postage rate, and nearly doubles our postage costs. However, we had a lot of stuff we just had to get in, with the upcoming book launch event (that I can't tell you about just yet), TCASU, and reports from the SFX event just gone. We still have lots of good material left over, so we might bring forward the next issue a little. Or we might hold it off and give it out at TCASU. Nothing is certain yet.
Apparently there is a warehouse in Athlone containing a backlog of three million undeliverable mail items that the postal service haven't managed to return to their senders yet. We wonder how many Brentford Mercuries (usually where people told us a silly name and didn't mention it to the people they live with, or their postman) are contained there.
Now back to the househunt...
