[LJ2ME] Delays

My flight home was late because of a lack of air traffic controllers. Apparently they've been refusing to work overtime in protest of a recruitment ban that meant no new controlers have been hired for years, causing delays like this. It meant I just missed the 11.20 bus home, and now have to wait for the 00.20. It's almost worth it, though, because at least we were spared that stupid trumpet fanfare Ryanair play whenever a plane arrives on time.

I heard about the recruitment ban when I was travelling to Budapest with my ex-housemate a couple of weeks ago, and our flight back to Dublin was due to arrive at 10.20pm, so she was terrified that we'd face a delay and miss our bus. There was no delay in the end, but there was that godawful trumpet fanfare...I've travelled on Ryanair several times and that's the first time I've ever heard the fanfare go off. Hopefully it will be the last!!! :)

Grin, I've flown Ryanair a few times ... I've *never* heard that fanfare! :-)

I think it's a relatively new innovation. I first heard it in January flying back from Prague.

In fairness to Ryanair, it was a factor outside their control. Their punctuality is usually pretty good, but I could live without every hearing that fanfare again!

I was in London for jamesb's wedding. I'll hopefully post more about that soon.
