Mammoth Coding Session

I've been working on an application for a friend who wants it as part of his thesis for his MA. I've been putting it off for weeks, because I've been working late a lot, I've been doing too much Sci-Fi stuff, and because I've been spending time with Angie. So it's finally reached the point where if I don't get it finished this week, he'll have to put off his thesis for another year, which I'd hate to be responsible for.
So I've made slow but useful progress over the weekend and Tuesday night (after dragging myself away from the Sci-Fi Club). I was stuck in work until after 9pm last night, then I did a bit before falling asleep (while sketching program flows lying on my bed). Woke around 3am, and started thinking about drafting another apologetic email.
Had a look at the screen and suddenly things started fitting together. I kept thinking "I'll just do this bit, write the email, then go back to bed." At 7:30am I'd got things working to the point where I could send him a version to try out. It's now at the point where I just have to tie in a few more data fields, add a bit more error checking, fix a few bug, and create a few reports. This suddenly looks a lot more possible. Hopefully get a lot of that done tonight.
I should be tired after that, but I've actually been feeling a lot more alert than usual this morning.
It will probably hit me later, of course.
