Jul. 12th, 2005 11:28 pmOh goody! The train I'm on is sitting in a station. The train ahead has broken down and is blocking the track. Why didn't I go to the pub?
Edit: Got moving again after about half an hour. We were told the delay was because the train ahead had broken down, but then when we got to Drogheda, people for Dundalk were told to change to a different train. Why would they do that if the fault was with a different train? Also, since the last southbound train had already passed, there's no reason why the northbound train couldn't switch to the other tracks until it was past the stalled train. Unless it was the stalled train.
The upshot is I got in about midnight. Would have been better off on the later train which was only about 15 minutes behind. Oh well.
Saw War of the Worlds (the reason I was on a late train). Not bad at all, though it got a little too fuzzy at the end. The special effects were quite stunning, and the story was quite close to the book.
