Me - about to realise the gravity of the situation...

I went snowboarding last week.

Poor Stef was suffering from Flu/Cold and didn't have a very good time for the first few days. He ventured out mid-way through the week, and was definately in better form. Still it's a pity to go on holiday and not be able to do everything you'd planned to.

It had snowed quite a bit the week before we went, but there was no new snow while were there, so by the end of the week it was getting a bit icy. We found some good off-piste areas in the first few days, but the snow got too hard for them to be much fun for the last few days. They did a great job of keeping the pistes in good shape (even though it meant stealing snow off our lovely off-piste), so there were always plenty of places to go.

My new boots were great. They have this handy lacing system which you just pull and it locks. Much easier than trying to tye old-fashoned laces tight enough, and much quicker to put on.

Got to practice jumping, and am definately getting more confident about it - though I still have a tendancy to fall over on landing. They had photo jumps set up, like last year, which you could go over and get a photo taken that you could collect from the shop later. The results were quite impressive, as you can see (though not as impressive as Jim's). Stef even used my camera to record a video clip of me going over one (and falling over). I might consider posting it somewhere, for anyone willing to wait for a 4MB download...

The hotel we stayed in was lovely. I wasn't sure what to expect, with evening meals being provided. It turned out to be really good, and we only ate out one night (Thursday night was the chef's night off). The rooms were small, but reasonably well equiped. We had a proper bathroom (although those with double rooms only got a shower). In the room Stef and I were sharing, the heating didn't work properly, which was an annoyance. They gave us a convection heater which kept us warm, but if we'd both been boarding all week, we wouldn't have been able to get gear dry properly.

It was a great week, though I missed Angie loads. Will have to persuade her to come next time.
