Randomness

Last night was the first time I made it to the gym since getting back from France, so I was a little aprehensive as to the state of my fitness. Although I was getting a fair amount of exercise from the boarding, I fear this was somewhat counteracted by the excellent four-course dinners the hotel laid on.

So I was relieved that once I got to work the muscles did what they were supposed to. Starting off slow on the crosstrainer, I built up a fair bout of speed. I then switched to my nemesis: the rowing machine. I pushed myself a bit, and managed to "row" over 2300m in ten minutes, which is a personal best since I started going to the gym again. I had a quick cycle and stretch to cool down again, then had to run for the shower with no time for a swim.

Had intended to be home before 8pm because madangie had to go out and needed me to mind Jack, but somewhere about 15 mins got lost and I was late. I have a theory about time dilation and aliens, but it was more likely just me. Oops.

And despite my screw-up, she left me a lovely sweet and sour for dinner. I hope I show her I appreciate her enough.

Assembled my new office chair, which is black and leather and goes up and down and around and tips back. Very cool.

Have been working on the next Brentford Mercury, which is coming together nicely. Should be a good issue - the first one since I've moved house. jamesb is bringing down a CD with lots of photos. At the moment it looks like we don't have quite enough to fill it, but it will probably end up that we have to leave things out, as usual.

Realised that we haven't got the gas changed over to our name, so the previous owners just got a gas bill. Called gas company this morning and got it set up.
