Writing...

I guess I'm about half way into chapter three. At times it goes well, and the total can shoot up quite fast, but other times it's like writing treacle.

Saturday was good. Got a good bit written in the morning, which turned into the afternoon, then headed into town and dropped [livejournal.com profile] madangie off where she was doing an Ann Summers party, and went to the pub. Unfortunately, I was on coke as I had to pick her up after, but it was pleasant to sit in a quiet pub and write. I'm sure the people there were thinking, "who's that sad person sitting alone with a computer?" I got a good bit of writing done, though I know my productivity isn't nearly high enough to reach 50,000 words in a month.

Yesterday was almost a total write-off (no pun intended), but we did have a nice family day, so I'm not complaining. I'm about the same place I was at the end of the first week in 2002, so I know this thing is still doable.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] madangie, who has been very understanding throughout.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] lproven!

Had my best writing day for a long time, and between the train to work, a bit at lunch, the train home and a couple of hours this evening, I have managed to clock up 2045 words in one day.

Better still, I think I'm actually going somewhere for a change. I'm starting to have a good feeling about the eventual ending, and increasingly positive about some of the events that will happen in-between. I still have much less of a plan than when I first did NaNoWriMo two years ago, so fingers crossed, I won't write myself into a corner. I just have to keep writing two thousand words every day and I'm laughing (which probably means I'll get totally stuck tomorrow, and won't be able to write anything).

The Psion continues to be a wonderful writing tool, and I can't sing its praises highly enough.

And my wonderful wife made a lovely dinner today, and has been incredibly supportive throught what can only be described as a foolish endeavour. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] madangie.
