There may be a lucky few among you who haven't heard me whitter on at length about the National Novel Writing Month. The rest can at least take some sollice in the fact that I haven't got off to a very good start,

You can see a little of what I have written here. I think I know where it's going, so hopefully things will pick up now.

And I've got a miserable cold.

I wonder whether it is worth me starting one on the 16th of November when I finish my current contract. I know that Charlie Stross can write 10000 words in one night, but there is no way I can.

There's no reason why you shouldn't give it a try. You'll have to work a little harder than (some) people who started on the 1st, but you still only need to average about 3200 words per day. If you've got some free time, that should be reasonably attainable in a few hours per day.

If you don't try, you'll never know.

666 words, eh? Is that significant?

What happened to the one you were writing last year?

Still working on the second draft. Slowly. Will go back to it at the end of the month.
