First real kiss: Hmmm, I was horribly shy as a teenager, so it was probably first year at college.

First job: I did freelance DTP while I was at college, which brought in reasonable money. Prior to that I did data-entry for my Dad, who used to do data processing on university surveys.

First screen name: jshields. Not very interesting really. My current one has the advantage of being unusual enough that nearly any site a come across is likely to have it available.

First self-purchased album: Some dreadful pop compilations, I think. I had apalling music taste as a teenager.

First funeral: I guess I'm lucky not to have had a lot of funerals in my life. There were some distant relatives when I was a kid, and I remember being terribly bored, but sitting still because I was told I'd get a present if I behaved. The first that meant anything was Rupert, the brainiest kid in my class at secondary school, who took his own life just before our final exams. Still think of him sometimes.

First pets: Happy. A little jack russel who got run over by a car when I was about ten.

First piercing: I'm quite content with the number of holes my body came with, thank you very much.

First true love: Tricky one. There have been times when I though I felt "true love" for someone, and maybe they even thought they felt if for me, but looking back, I don't think many of them really were. What Angie and I have now is worth more than all of them put together, and that's all that really matters.

First big trip: Depends on what you mean by big. When I was very small, a trip to the seaside with my parents was a big trip. First without my parents was probably a scouting trip to Dingle. And there was the Model United Nations trip with my school. And the time I went inter-railing around Europe with a friend, which was the first big trip without any "adults" to take care of us.

Last big car ride: Depends again. This morning I drove to Navan to sign the contracts for my house, with was only about 30 miles, but was "big" for other reasons.

Last kiss: This morning, before the above trip.

Last good cry: Don't recall. Haven't had much to cry about for a long time.

Last movie seen: Matrix Revolutions. Or some TV movie about a black football coach on TV last night.

Last beverage drank: Glass of water.

Last food consumed: An apple.

Last phone call: Angie, after I got into the office.

Last TV show watched: Broadcast, the above movie. On DVD, Red Dwarf (Backwards - one of the best episodes ever).

Last shoes worn: My black "work" shoes. Prior to that some monster feet slippers I brought back from London.

Last CD played: Not quite sure. More accurate would be last CD ripped (possibly a Cure remix album). Been a good while since I've listened to an album in a single sitting, rather than a randomised jumble of MP3s.

Last item bought: Some food in Tesco at lunchtime. Prior to that, 2 DVDs (Matrix Reloaded and Red Dwarf III (see above)) and a load of chocolate to bring people back from Woolworths in London.

Last soda drank: Two tiny cans of Pepsi on the plane.

Last ice cream eaten: I'd really prefer not to talk about that. I really wanted a McFlurry on the way back from the pub the other night, but McDonalds had switched off their ice cream machine. Such a disappointment.

Last shirt worn: Er, a blue one. Slightly crumpled. I really must make some time to iron my shirts for work.

hes not for sale
