I'm having my first scuba diving lesson next Saturday. It's a birthday present from madangie. I'm not sure what to expect. Probably not coral reefs or sunken wrecks, but it should certainly be a new experience.

Hopes he's not told he needs to be a strong enough swimmer and sent away.

I assume it's not in the Liffey. Don't worry, I know people who love it. The worst thing that can happen is that you'll get hooked, and go live in exotic locations six months of the year teaching it.

No, it's not the Liffey (it's in a pool in Bettystown, if anyone's interested).

However I have canooed (or should I say kayaked?) in the Liffey, however. It's actually very plesent, apart from the smelly bit in the city centre.
