Consequences

lostcarparkI did a rather stupid thing this morning. Actually, it was over the weekend that I did the stupid thin, or rather, didn't do the smart thing, but it was this morning that the consequences hit me.

madangie, so my bike remained at the station. Angie needed to be in south Dublin early this morning, which would have meant a horribly early start from Drogheda, so she stayed with a friend, leaving me at home with no car. Somewhere between the two, I should have collected my bike from the station, but it slipped my mind. So this morning, as I was getting ready to leave, I suddenly realised I had no transport to the train station. It only takes ten minutes to drive, but it's a good half-hour walk, and byt the time I left, I only had 25 minutes to do it in, which meant I had to do a but of running to make up the difference. Fortunately, I was wearing a tee-shirt, and not my work shirt, otherwise I would not have been pleasent to sit next to.
To make matters worse, when I got off the train, the heavens opened. It's only a few hundred metres from the station to the office, but that's enough to get the bits that weren't covered by my raincoat distinctly damp.
I so need to go home and have a shower!
