Word count continues to creep up. It's nowhere near as fast as I'd like, but hopefully I can pick up the pace as the month wears on. I've finished one chapter, and have started into a second, and I think there is a plot running through them. The chapters run through consecutive days, and I resisted the temptation to put a dream sequence between them, but I suspect it's only a matter of time...

Further down the road, I think I have something resembling an overall plan for the novel, though the ending still isn't as solid as I'd like.

Oh, and if anyone can suggest interesting ways of getting into trouble (or getting someone else into trouble) at school, it would be a big help.

Those are all good, and I'm likely to steal a few, and I'll keep this post around in ever case I ever get the urge to become a teacher. However, what I'm really looking for is ways that a bright but absentminded student who's trying but having problems might get into trouble without intending to.
