Sale Agreed
Sep. 26th, 2003 11:11 amI've agreed a sale on my apartment. I have to confess to being plesently surprised and slightly shocked by the price. Wanna know how much? Oh alright then...
€300,000
That's right, three hundred thousand filthy stinking Euros. I don't mean to brag. I really don't. It's all going to go on the new house, so I don't really get any benefit (apart from a nice house).
I had been hoping for €280K-€290K, so when it went to €291K on Monday I was thrilled. The under-bidder had asked us to give her till yesterday to decide, and yesterday my estate agent was in an all-day meeting. This morning the bidding had gone up in 1's to 296, which I though I had accepted, but before my agent got a chance to convey this news to the bidder, the other bidder had come back with 297, which was promptly beaten by the €300K.
I told my estate agent to accept it quick before they changed their mind.
