Kill all the lawyers...

I want to close on the house. The seller wants to close. The buyer of my apartment wants to close. Why, then, can't the solicitors get their collective thumbs out and sort the thing out?

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We will be in before Christmas if we have to break down the door to do so.

Edit: Got some answers and made some progress made today. Have a pink form that needs to travel thirty kilometers to my solicitor and back to the relevant section of the bank which is about thirty metres away from where I'm sitting now. Hopefully everything will fall in place in the next few days. Have a headache now. Until a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't had a headache in years.
