As
etherealfionna says, in Ireland we don't have seasons, we have Weather.
It was below freezing last night (-2C according to the thermometer in my car), so I was concerned that ice might be a problem this morning. When I awoke, there was rain, which I think had only started, so there was slushy ice on the ground. I took it very slowly in the car, especially getting out of the estate, and was very thankful for ABS brakes a couple of times.
I was a little later than usual arriving at the station. Usually at that time finding parking would be a little tricky, but there was no shortage this morning, so either people were staying at home or abandoning the train altogether.
The train was emptier than usual the whole way into town. Usually it would be packed by the time it gets to Balbriggan (second stop after Drogheda). This morning there were only a couple of people standing, and I suspect they could have found seats if they took a walk down the train.
Around Gormanstown and Balbriggan I noticed snow.
And when I got off Lansdowne there was quite heavy hail starting. I had a look down from the office after I got upstairs, and there was a slushy white covering on the pavements.
Weather now: sunny.
Weekend report inculding camera-phone pics of concert coming soon.
