More geekyness
Jun. 16th, 2004 11:47 amJust had an email from my ISP with my shiney new public IP address, and it works. I can connect to my own web server at home.
The nice people at GoDaddy provide free DNS servers, so I've just input my IP address on a test domain name. Hopefully in a few hours it will have propagated around the web and
madangie will have her very own website (be afraid, be very afraid).
Last night I figured out why MySQL wasn't working, and tweaked some more settings on Apache, so hopefully everything on the webserver end is now working.
The next step, of course, is to crate some content for it.
Once I'm happy with it, I plan to move some of my other domains over. Not sure if the bandwidth will be sufficient for everything, but it should lower my hosting costs.
Will post URLs as soon as there's something to see!
