lostcarparkYesterday's barbecue was officially a success. Lots of food was eaten, and the new picnic table got much admiration. Even the odd shower didn't put a dampner on proceedings.

jamesb helped Jack set up a Scaleletrix-type racing set, with some rather cool loop-the-loop sections. The current layout may have to change, however, as if you get up enough speed to make it round the loop, you tend to be going too fast to make it around the next corner.
Last night I got roped into helping the parents move PCs from their old office (a bedroom) to their new office (slightly larger bedroom). Slightly complicated by a shortage of power-points in the new location, but two twelve-way distribution boards helped.
Been working on a spec all day. It's turned out to be slightly more complicated than I first expected, but I can now claim to be on top of it, even if I'm only where I wanted to be on Friday.

Almost finished the first chapter of my novel rewrite. I've written a couple of scenes I'm very pleased with, and overall I'm happy with the way its working out. I've written 5000 words, so the chapters are quite long, but the story I'm trying to tell breaks down quite well into slightly bigger pieces, and should give me room to explore a different world in each chapter.
I'm rather pleased with how the Psion has worked out so far, but I really hope nothing happens to it, as I haven't managed to get the data cable working yet, so I have no backup of my work.
