My poor bike has been in the wars this week.
On Tuesday, on arrival at Drogheda station, I discovered the rear tyre was completely flat. Fortunately, there's a petrol station next to the railway station, and I was able to use the free air, but by the time I got home, it was nearly flat again. So I got out the puncture repair kit, located the hole in the inner tube and applied a nice little patch.
Yestarday, I had no problems getting to or from the station, but when I got home I was feeling lazy and left my bike in the garden for a few hours rather than putting it in the shed immediately. It was lucky I did, as when I went to put it away, the back tyre was almost flat. So I fished out the puncture repair kit again, and located an almost invisible hole, about 20cm from the first one. Repairs were affected.
Two punctures in two days? Is my bike trying to tell me something? I guess it's possible they both were caused at the same time, and the smaller one took longer to manifest itself. Or perhaps someone has been throwing sharp spikes on the road, and I went over the same patch both days.
I will monitor the situation in the coming days. Running low on patches!
