This is probably old news, but Google Toolbar is now available for Firefox. This is one of the few things I from Internet Explorer really missed when I switched to Firefox.
Yes, I know Firefox has a search box in the toolbar, but Google Toolbar has a couple of really neat things - like putting your search terms in the toolbar so you can find where they are text, and the highlighter. And, of course, the way it lets me spellcheck this entry before I post it.

Date: 2005-10-29 07:11 pm (UTC)In general I agree with you on the toolbar front - I'm forever helping people to get rid of horrible Spyware toolbars. However, I've got used to features of the Google one that I really miss when I'm without them. I always thought it was silly that I had to type search terms once into thesearch engine, then again in the find function to find where they appear in the page.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I thought there might be others like me who found it handy on IE and missed it on Firefox.

Date: 2005-10-29 07:34 pm (UTC)As I said, I can't really object to the Google toolbar from anything other than a biased viewpoint. It's pretty useful from what I can see, but it goes against the grain to install a toolbar of any type - partially from an aversion to the damn things, but also because I like maximising my viewspace in web browsers, and losing the thirty or so pixels would take me too long to adjust to.
Again, I'm weird like that.
